FAQ
Most frequent questions and answers
- Dance connects us to our body making it responsive and alert while opening avenues of artistic expression. Training in a classical art form engages the mind, body and the spirit of the learner at multiple layers. It builds skill and educates the individual. It adds grace to our movements, improves posture and concentration, fosters imagination and artistry and brings in team spirit.
- Kathak is the dance form that evolved in the temples, villages and palaces in the northern part of Indian sub-continent over several centuries. Today it is known for its beautiful fluid movements, fast and precise footwork patterns, quick pirouettes and its natural yet poetic expression. If the form attracts you, this might be your dance…. Give it your best try
Like all form of learning, Kathak too is vast and endless. But with regular attendance in the weekly classes and consistent home-practice, one is able to earn enough skill and confidence within a year to participate in a short stage presentation.

Around 12
Because of the busy lifestyles today, almost in every class there are usually one or two students absent. At Aakriti Foundation, we strive to maintain the progress of the group and hence give due attention to each student. Therefore previous lessons are revised in each class to help students catch up. Sometimes senior students are deputed if extra attention is needed. All students get plenty of extra attention before any special event such as a performance or an exam
The timings depend on the batches. Mostly the batches for younger children are during weekday evenings, for older children and teenages, over the weekend. Adults have the option of choosing from the weekday morning sessions or evening and weekend sessions
